I see Maloney working: the Coyotes have no discernible talent, so they're going to sign every FA goalie and play six netminders at a time. Is there a specific rule that says Waynederful can't send six goalies over the boards at once?
Actually, yes there is.
There's a rule that specifically states you can only have one goalie on the ice at once.
The Coyotes just can't get enough reclaimation projects. Or anyone, for that matter.
Not since the 1998-99 Flames has a team had so many backup goaltenders, but no starter. The competition for that coveted gate-opener position will be intense!
Keith, you're obviously forgetting the 2002-03 Bruins as a team with no starter (Grahame, Shields, young Raycroft, added Hackett mid-season)... or the 2003-04 Penguins (Caron, Aubin, 18 year old Fleury, Chiodo). This Phoenix group is a hell of a lot better than those ones, believe it or not.
And it's not like LA is any different right now... they just pay a guy as if he is a starter.
