Stars re-sign Jokinen

Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has re-signed left wing Jussi Jokinen to a two-year contract worth $3.625 million ($1,812,500 average per season) through the 2008-09 season.

“Jussi has provided our team two consecutive productive seasons and we look for him to continue to grow his game with our club over the next two years,” said Armstrong. “We believe in his abilities to improve our hockey club and are happy to have him under contract for the next two seasons.”
This looks like a terrific deal for the Stars.

Gandler is starting to get it. His Russian pipeline in Jaroslav is drying up so he can't lose his few Finns as a client.

Jokinen's numbers would have given him more in arbitration so Dallas won this one.
