A new venture
This may be of interest to only a small portion of the audience here, but it's worth a mention nonetheless: Last week, I started to put together The CIS Blog, which is going to try and create an blogging presence for Canadian university sports that really doesn't exist right now.
We're just getting off the ground, and still looking for contributers, but I think this will be something that will continue to grow as the football and hockey seasons get going.
At least we don't have to worry about the competition.
My first substantial entry includes a visit to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, who have lost 42 games in a row heading into Week 2.

Capturing another niche - excellent work James!
I don't live in a CIS town or anywhere near it, but I like special interest stories as pertaining to hockey players in particular.

That's a great idea, James. If you need anything by way of McMaster news, I've just started as the Sports Director at the radio station which broadcasts all of their football and basketball games.
I've been meaning to go to a few Huskies games in recent years, in various sports (well, I suppose only 3 or 4). Maybe this year I'll get to a few.
I've read your hockey blog for a long time. As a graduated CIS athlete, I know that university sports in Canada are largely ignored, despite excellent competition and a remarkable amount of dedication. I love that you're always trying to bring exposure to the CIS. I can't wait to read the new blog!
It's too bad the Canadian colleges are largely ignored. Sounds like an interesting topic and a very underexposed one.
This should be good. I still like to follow how my alma mater is doing (which happens to be McMaster - so Sherry must work at CFMU), and while the scores can be found, there is very little in the way of reports.
I think you should bother Greg at CanadianRules. He's got season tickets for the Huskies this year (there is no football like Dog football) :)
James, you're absolutely right: a CIS blog is going to interest a very small portion of your audience.
Why on earth would anyone take the time to post that last comment?
Heh.
