Gary Bettman is going to be on the Fan 590 Wednesday night from 5 to 5:30 p.m. EST with Bob McCown, who isn't likely to go easy on the commissioner regarding things such as the Nashville situation.

Listening to Bettman is pointless because all he ever says is that there is nothing wrong with the NHL and everything is hunky dory. All the franchises are stable, fan interest is on the increase, and all is good in the world of the NHL. Of course that is all bogus but that is all he will say. I have yet to see anyone be able to get a realistic statement out of him.
Agreed. Also, he looks like the penguin from the 1990s batman movies, and the tremors when he talks make me secretly wish that he has late stage Alzheimers
Ewwww... I missed it on 590, but heard him with Bill Watters on 640 and I'm not sure I was able to understand a word Watters said since his nose was so far up Bettman's butt.
Apparently Bettman's just a misunderstood man who doesn't hate Canada (just look at how well the Canadian teams are doing - all Bettman, nothing to do with the dollar) and he's not talking about bigger nets and there was never, ever a chance that Balsillie was going to buy Nashville. Ever.

Give Bettman credit: he's great at Red Herrings.
Here's possibly another issue Bettman can kick around. The issue of 3 points for a regulation victory could gain renewed steam after a study was performed comparing results prior to and after OT point rules in 1999. tsn.ca and offwing opinion had post posts on this.
Do you know of a site where they have a transcript of the conversation? I don't know what's wrong with my computer, but all I hear is joy-oy-oyning u-u-us to-oo-day is gar-air-air-air-ee-ee Bet-bet-ma-man.
It's frustrating.

What an absolute rout it was. Bettman so completely schooled McCown and Brunt that he requested more time and THEY turned him down, following which they wasted about 15 minutes of time talking about absolutely nothing.
McCown is such a bum. He talks oh so tough and then gets his clock cleaned.
