The Daily Show meets The NHL
Apparently this video has caused a little bit of a debate in Buffalo, but I can't really see the harm.
My guess is the players don't mind something like this at all, and I expect we'll be seeing more lampooning in the near future. The idea, I think, has to be to stay away from being openly hostile, as we're getting used to seeing on something like The Daily Show.
Sportsnet certainly continues to look outside the box.

If I was the Sabres, the only thing that would trouble me about this is the possibility that when Connolly says "I don't know what we're in denial about", it's because he doesn't remember that Briere and Drury used to play there.
The Daily show reporters come off as tongue in cheek "we sound serious but this is clearly a joke"
greg ross of sportsnet comes off during his interviews as a dick.
If anything it speaks to how talented the folks over at the daily show are.
Anybody getting upset about this should seriously consider finding something else to do.
This piece was way funny, and no animals were harmed during filming it.
Btw, this is the best way for Sportsnet or TSN to be funny. Having Mike Toth or anyone of those deskfaces act like they're second coming of George Carlin or Robin Williams is NOT funny.
Their "jokes" are lame. James Duthie is the only one who can get away with this comedian act.
Weak.
I love it. If the NHL wants to market itself well, it has to be able to not take itself too seriously. Funny piece. I'd have been honored to have my team lampooned as well (and they could have been).

Big Sabre fan here, and I thought it was hilarious.
I used to work with Greg Ross years ago in our late teens and early twenties. He was a dick back then and obviously has progressed into an even bigger dick over the years. It's a shame that that great media position is filled by a complete asshole.
John
after last night I'm thinking the shitty team comment may be accurate...
The real question is "how did he manage to get an interview with Afinigenov?"
I heard today that Greg Ross was fired for his part in the making of this. If this is true I'd like to know why because to me there is nothing wrong with it at all. It's funny and something a little different than constant cliches all the time.
I looked on Sportsnet's talent pages and Greg Ross is not there.
What's up with this?
