More on the NHLPA business

TSN's Gord Miller responds to the Toronto Star story that was making waves over the weekend in a story by William Houston, while Al Maki has more on how agent Don Meehan is being involved in the mudslinging:
Edmonton-based player agent Ritch Winter, who had also been openly critical of Saskin's hiring, said he believed there were player agents who were too involved in assisting Saskin and would be reprimanded for their actions.

“I am absolutely certain there are agents who will be decertified because of their active interference in negotiations between the NHLPA and NHL,” Winter said, “and because of their activities in supporting Ted Saskin's violation of the players' rights, which was a violation of the constitution."
Agent on agent action.

Paul Kelly will certainly have an interesting role to play in all of this, should he be accepted into the fold as the PA's next executive director, something that Chris Chelios alluded to. “There's a vote [for a new NHLPA executive director] to come, and if everything goes in Paul Kelly's favour, he'll have a lot better plan [for challenging Saskin and the NHL] than I will.”

Kelly's already taken on one former NHLPA director, when he prosecuted the case of Alan Eagleson; why not another?

Eric Duhatschek has more.

Crap, I didn't want to read another story about NHLPA or CBA but these three stories were too good to ignore.

Meehan, Miller, Daly, Saskin... interesting and I hate it.

I care about the game and my interest extends to the 'powers that be' behind the game.
I don't really care for Chelios as a player, but I do admire and support what he and those others have done. My hackles always rise when there's any kind of abuse of power. Being an influential agent or elite player also qualifies as those having power and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if those mentioned are suspect.
