Power players
A look at the top power-play players used so far across the league. Team's generally use their first power play line about 70 per cent of the man advantage minutes, so you're going to see these players pick up the majority of those points.
Notable additions and/or changes in bold:
| Anaheim | |
| Pronger, Beauchemin | |
| Getzlaf, Bertuzzi, McDonald | |
| Atlanta | The Thrashers have long needed PP QBs and Tobias Enstrom, 22, is going to get a long look here |
| Zhitnik, Enstrom | |
| Kovalchuk, Hossa, Kozlov | |
| Boston | It's a little puzzling that, given the firepower here, Ference and Schaefer have received this many PP minutes |
| Chara, Ference | |
| Murray, Schaefer, Bergeron | |
| Buffalo | |
| Campbell, Spacek | |
| Vanek, Connolly, Roy | |
| Calgary | |
| Phaneuf | |

| Johansson | |
| Lang, Williams, Bourque, Perreault | |
| Colorado | |
| Liles | |

| Florida | With Florida struggling to score, Peltonen and Stumpel won't stay ahead of Horton and Weiss much more |
| Murphy, Bouwmeester | |
| Peltonen, Stumpel, Jokinen | |
| Los Angeles | Blake's 36 and had all of 34 points last year; Johnson, Preissing or Stuart should be here (or Crawford canned) |
| Visnovsky, Blake | |
| Cammalleri, Kopitar, Frolov | |
| Minnesota | With two goals in three games, Brent Burns has arrived |
| Nummelin, Burns | |
| Rolston, Demitra, Gaborik | |
| Montreal | Without Souray, Mark Streit is getting huge PP minutes here and performing admirably so far |
| Streit, Markov | |
| Higgins, Koivu, Ryder | |
| Nashville | I'm afraid I can't explain what Radek Bonk's doing here given Radulov's an option |
| Zidlicky, Suter | |
| Dumont, Arnott, Bonk | |
| New Jersey | The Devils are struggling, but Greene's been okay so far. I'm surprised Paul Martin's not getting more minutes |
| Rachunek, Greene | |
| Parise, Zajac, Gionta | |
| N.Y. Islanders | After a really solid rookie year, Campoli struggled last season, but could blossom here. Weird choices up front |
| Campoli, Bergeron | |
| Sim, Hunter, Comrie | |
| N.Y. Rangers | |
| Rozsival | |
| Gomez, Shanahan, Drury, Jagr | |
| Ottawa | |
| Redden, Corvo | |
| Heatley, Spezza, Alfredsson | |

| Timonen | |
| Gagne, Briere, Knuble, Richards | |
| Phoenix | Gretzky's baby brigade! I don't ever recall a team, aside from Pittsburgh, with a 19- and 20-year-old on the PP |
| Jovanovski | |
| Doan, Vrbata, Mueller, Hanzal | |
| Pittsburgh | |
| Gonchar, Whitney | |
| Crosby, Recchi, Malkin | |
| St. Louis | Talk about a plum role for Erik Johnson, although a foot fracture's going to slow him down a bit now |

| San Jose | |
| Carle/Vlasic/Rivet | |
| Marleau, Thornton, Cheechoo | |

| Kuba | |
| Richards, St. Louis, Lecavalier, Ouellet | |
| Toronto | |
| Kaberle, McCabe | |

| Bieksa, Ohlund | |
| Shannon, Sedin, Sedin | |
| Washington | A big-time scorer in junior, Mike Green's getting a shot here. Only one point so far, but I expect more |
| Poti, Green | |
| Ovechkin, Nylander, Kozlov |

None of Souray, Pitkanen, or Penner is a notable addition?
What's to say? That's a pretty predictable power-play line-up for the Oilers.
TB: Prospal got the PP time last night over Ouellet.
Bonk did seem like a bit of an odd choice for the Preds power play, but he's got a couple PP goals tonight already. I think Trotz likes his size and ability to be patient with the puck in traffic.
