Just Ducky

Earl Sleek's at it again, cartooning hockey-related things, but the thing that caught my eye was a tidbit in the L.A. Times story he points to:
Kevin Epp stressed that his client has not made a decision and does not expect to make one for "another month." Epp said that Niedermayer, 34, has been preparing for a possible return since last week and has been on the ice with former Ducks Travis Green and Jeff Friesen.
Forget Scott Niedermayer — what on earth are Green and Friesen up to?

Green may be ready to pack it in, but Friesen, who just turned 31? That'd be hard to believe. And it makes me wonder how many more guys are out there, floating around, waiting for a job.

It actually has me a little nervous. Both Friesen and Green were actually Ducks for two stints, and them hanging out in Southern California skating around with Scott--maybe they think Anaheim's their ticket back in?

I sure hope not. We weren't excited about them coming to Anaheim the last time, even.

1) We thought that Friesen and Green were playing in Europe??
2) Of course Friesen's team probably wouldn't notice his disapearence anyway

I'd take Friesen over Recchi in Pittsburgh right now!

Mark Recchi bashing is not permitted on the Mirtle blog.

Friesen still has potential, but his confidence is still in the minors or San Jose or the 2003 conference finals.

friesen will be back.. o yes.. its just a matter of time.. a little time off and a bit of practice to get his hands back just might be all he needs. hes still one of the fastest guys you'll ever see on a pair of hockey skates.

Maybe there's a way someone could sign Jeff Friesen just for a game seven. I'd support that.
