It always amazes me how some kids that are prolific scorers in junior can go undrafted, yet here we have three of the top 15 producing CHL players who went unpicked. Kitchener's Azevedo, from what I've heard, is quite a player, but you only have to look under 'height' and 'weight' on his bio to see why he wasn't selected.
A good guy to invite to next year's training camp, no doubt.
Tavares? After putting up 13 goals and 22 points in his first eight games, he only managed five goals and 19 points in his next nine.
I think he'll be okay.

Wasn't Matthias traded by Detroit last spring for Bertuzzi?
Tavares will be ok as long as his agents stop "helping" him too much.
There's no need to challenge the NHL. It's pressure that is not needed. Just ask Lindros.
What Tavares should do is work on his physique for another 20 months so he'll be ready when it's time to step on NHL ice.
Sidney Crosby's leg strenght is totally another level than Tavares'. Same with Ovechkin.
Score 120 goals if you want but make sure you improve your leg strenght.
Europe shouldn't be even an idea. Those pro leagues could eat Tavares alive.
I saw Giroux and Ouellet on the weekend. The difference between them in points is small. The difference between them in skating and all-around game is vast. Giroux can be Simon Gagne redux. A great skater, great instincts, constant effort.
The kid on that list who surprises me is Oscar Moller. Scoring at a goal-a-game pace in the Dub? Not bad for a Swede 2nd rounder. The Kings brass should be doing back-flips.
I saw Azevedo when he played Jr. B in Chatham when he was 15. I never thought much of him then, but I don't think I realized how young he was. I just remember a small kid getting muscled off the puck all the time. Somehow he managed to score 20 goals.
I'll have to go check out a Rangers game sometime to see what he's like now.
