2008: An all-Canadian draft?

I'm afraid I don't follow NHL prospects like I used to, back when I saw more junior games than pro, but McKeen's Hockey is generally on the ball with these sorts of things.

Now, as I said, I don't have any idea how accurate this ends up being, and this list was from mid-November, but that's an awful lot of CHL representation.

The world junior tournament gets underway 12 days from now, and that'll be the first look at some of these kids for a lot of us.

Its a lot of CHL, but very little of the 'Q' with only 2 of the top 30. Any explanation for the drought?

Just a bad year for QMJHL prospects, basically. There's a lot of guys who might fit in as mid- or late-round picks, but not much high end talent.

I only see one Ottawa OHLer in the top 30, so I guess that means the Sharks are drafting another defenseman this year...
