A backup plan

If the AMP Energy NHL Winter Classic has to be postponed on January, 1, 2008, the game will be rescheduled for 7 p.m., ET, on Wednesday, January 2, at Ralph Wilson Stadium, the National Hockey League announced today.

Those holding tickets to the game on Jan. 1 are strongly encouraged to retain their tickets until the conclusion of play. In the event the rescheduled game becomes necessary, those tickets would be required for entry Jan. 2.

Just curious ... does anyone care?

I haven't felt any hype about any of this; I barely remembered it's happening.

why isnt this game scheduled on christmas day instead of new years day??

nhl could of taken advantage of the tv time that would be available on christmas day and seems to be more traditional. they could easily taken away audience away from nba on that day.

scheduling this game on new years day can be added to the bettman's dumbest decsions because no one in the states will not care because their 6 bowls games on tv.

What do you mean? It's already called the Winter 'Classic'.

Winter Classic, indeed! My dad still tells stories about all the epic Winter Classic contests in the '60s. Its become a part of the fabric of New Year's Day here in the States. What are these "bowl games" of which anonymous speaks?
