Recchi sent down

The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned right winger Mark Recchi to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by Penguins Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.

I believe this is simply the next step in putting Recchi on re-entry waivers, but I suppose we'll see. It'd be unfortunate to see him actually play out the season in the AHL.

1) We wonder if he'll actually (have to) report. Would seem a bit demeaning to a possible future HOF-er to be riding the busses.
2) Here's hoping the pens do the right thing and either release him or bring him back on reentry waivers making it more likely he'll be picked up
