Thrashers claim Recchi

Looking to add some experience to their lineup, the Atlanta Thrashers have claimed veteran winger Mark Recchi off re-entry waivers.
This should be a good fit, as Atlanta needs another top six forward to bat in a few goals on the power play. At the very least, Recchi's not going to cost the Thrashers a lot.

UPDATE I believe the team's lines will look something like so:

Kovalchuk-White-Hossa
Kozlov-Holik-Recchi
Perrin-Little-Haydar
Boulton-Slater-Dupuis

Kozlov looked like he had the puck glued to his stick today against Washington, which for some reason was broadcast on Fox Sports Bay Area. The first time I have seen two Eastern Conference teams on FSNBA in a long time.

Recchi will get fed his share of passes, but does he still have the speed and the strength to fight through checks to get to open spaces. He will always have that quick release, and he will added some needed help on the PP.

Good pickup.
