A sportswriter at The Globe and Mail, James covers the NHL and the game of hockey. He is a member of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association, a senior editor with McKeen's Hockey and was the NHL network manager at SB Nation from 2008 to 2010. Although I doubt I'll watch it, I'd rather NeYo and The Hives over Tom Petty.
Superbowl is going to go with the lillywhite, zero chance at controversy, older bands forever just because of a half second nipple slip.
I've had the Hives. Better than Scarlet Fever but worse than The Mumps.
I'm sorry, did you say the "Atlanta Boys Choir"? Hopefully there is no "wardrobe malfunctions".
Time to cancel it forever. Players don't want to go, hockey fans don't want to watch it, bands don't want to play in it.....
How bad is the NHL going to let it get?
Cancel it, still name players as All-Stars send them a plaque and give them the same break, or more over X-mas, but please just put this dying pony out of its misery.

I have no clue who Ne-Yo is, but it could be that I'm out of touch given I title my posts after Metallica albums.
I'm actually impressed they managed to get The Hives, that's actually a pretty big draw if you ask me.
Dfsdao: Tom Petty is going to rock the Halftime show very hard. He may be 57 but he knows how to put on a good show.
It is completely ludicrous that you would even suggest that you'd rather see Ne Yo than Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
Hardly ludicrous. It's called an opinion. Really, neither Ne-Yo or Tom Petty are going to get any viewing time from me. But Petty is "before my time", so yeah, would rather listen to The Hives/Ne-Yo combination.
I'm down with Tom Petty too, although I'm a big Hives fan as well.
