The Eastern all-stars
The NHL released the full rosters for the Eastern Conference today at noon.
The team looks reasonably close to the one I put together Wednesday, with a few tweaks to try and fit in a player from every team.
Players missing: Tim Thomas, Henrik Lundqvist, Paul Martin, Tobias Enstrom, Mats Sundin, Alex Kovalev
Players on team: Tomas Vokoun, Rick DiPietro, Tomas Kaberle, Kimmo Timonen, Marian Hossa, Eric Staal
Sundin and Kovalev are pretty glaring omissions if you ask me: Both have more goals, more points and a better plus-minus than Hossa and Staal.
I've got no problem with the changes in goal; it's basically a coin flip between those four and Vokoun's had a great season in Florida.

Glaring omissions every time each team must send a rep. Not seeing the Leafs enough would Sundin in and Kaberle out been fair? And Hossa gets the home team discount.
Yes, Sundin has outplayed Kaberle this season.
And sending Enstrom would still give the Thrashers two representatives.
Enstrom's going to the YoungStars game, though. He'd have to be, no?
Will the Sens top line play together in the all-star game? Would let everyone else get a taste of what we here in Ottawa get to see every game.
Nice to see Gonch get the nod after being left off the ballot. At least the NHL got that right.
Sundin pulled a skip out a few years ago that they black balled him for, but I don't think he cares. He would prefer the rest.
And Kimmo Timonen is an All Star because?
