Cloutier's return

The Los Angeles Kings have recalled goaltender Dan Cloutier from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League (AHL), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Cloutier, 31, has played in 14 games with the Monarchs this season and he has a record of 4-9-0, a goals-against average of 3.50 and a save-percentage of .869. He has not played with the Kings this season.

Those are some pretty hideous numbers in the AHL. Perhaps the Kings are stepping up their game in the Slide for Stamkos?

1) Holy Geez! If the guy can't stop AHL shooters, how in hell will he be able to do anything in the big league?
2) Maybe the Manarchs team begged for the Kings to take him. He was hurting their playoff chances. LOL

He's never been the same since that unfortunate incident involving the Porsche Cayenne.

He's never been the same from that Nick Lidstrom scoring from way up in section 307 during the playoffs all those years ago.

What I remember about that series is that both goalies gave up a couple of just stupid goals. Osgood let in one from the red line. The difference, and it's something I'd admire about Chris Osgood, is that he can put that sort of thing behind him. He's still what he is: a good, but not great, NHL goaltender. He lets in a few that he shouldn't, and stops a few that he shouldn't. He doesn't let any of it get into his head.

It's a skill I really wish I had.

Hasek was the goalie in that series, not Osgood.
