Some new names this time around. Braydon Coburn has had a terrific year out in Philly, something that makes that Alexei Zhitnik deal smell awfully funny for Atlanta this year.

Don Waddell is terrible, especially at rating defensemen. First he decides Coburn is better than Phaneuf and drafts him. Then he decides, after half a season, that Coburn isn't that good and trade him for 20 good games out of Alexei Zhitnik who is now dead weight.
Then there was the whole Olympic team debacle...
IMO, Waddell is the worst GM in the league now that Ferguson has been fired.
Ferguson was a scapegoat and whipping boy for the Leafs organization. His hands were bound from the beginning.
You're right on the mark with Waddell though, awful moves on the blueline.
It's nice to see some strong young defensive talent in the league, maybe Cherry's message was getting through to young Coach's Corner viewers.
Hey, any time James does a post about the top players that doesn't mention Daniel Alfredsson, shouldn't we all be saying, "Where's Alfredsson," just for the little baby ears Senators fans?
imho Malkin has been greatly under appreciated skating in the shadow of #87. The past couple of weeks have given him a chance to really show what he's made of.
