Surprised to see that Malkin isn't one of the youngest players. Is this one of those weird Miguel Tejada/Danny Almonte-type situations?

Heh, you've proven why it's a bad idea to post something that's not quite finished...

Classy breakdown though.

I enjoyed it, thanks for the work.
Here's a head's up for Matt: Malkin entered his first season as a pro (03/04, age 17) in Russia and was drafted by Pitt on 04. Malkin stayed in Russia during the lockout plus the 05/06 season: In 2006 Malkin played in the World Juniors, Winter Olympics and the World Championships. With some legal wrangling, the Penguins were able to help Malkin negotiate out of a Russian contract. Due to an injury, he didn't make his debut until October of the 06/07 season.

Malkin had 3 years of professional/international experience before his NHL rookie season, so technically, he isn't in his sophomore NHL year.

If this goes seven the Penguins youth and size will wear the Red Wings dinosuars out. But I think that youth and size will make for a short series. If the Preds can take two from the Red Wings the Pens can take four. AND I think the Red Wings may get embarrassed by the amount of Pens fans at JLA. They have a habit of taking over buildings. (Oddly the Leafs fans always come down and take over Mellon Arena! Not sure how that happens but they always come here in full force!!)

Leafs fans travel well because Leafs fans haven't been able to get inside their home arena since 1937.

Wonder what the sizes would be if teams listed actual player size. Rafalski might be closer to 5'6, Talbot's roughly 5'9, Laraque is thought to weigh more than 270, etc.
