Nonis now a Duck

Former Vancouver Canucks general manager Dave Nonis will not be joining the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.

Nonis, who met with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment president Richard Peddie and Toronto lawyer Gordon Kirke (the Leafs' search committee for a new top hockey man) in May, has accepted a pro scouting job with the Anaheim Ducks under his old boss Brian Burke.
I believe this lends credence to the fact Burke is staying put in Anaheim for one more season. Nonis had been hoping to get another GM job, but likely has a bit of a wait before that opportunity comes around again.
