Russia, where vodka runs freely, wouldn't be a right place for York.
He's quite a good smallish player but you can't be out of shape in today's NHL. As he has found out with this two-way deal.
What is the IIHF really going to do to Mike York? nada
Mike York is not going to play for Team USA again, is he?
Russia's got Jagr and a handful of fringe players. Forgive me for not keeping tabs on Dany Heatley. Who will they take next? Vaclav Varada? NNNNOOOOOO!
I'm not sure what that has to do with York signing in Columbus, Ben.
I quite often took a look on the Novosibirsk homepage the last few weeks because York was also rumored to play in Cologne if he couldn't find an NHL team.
They never announced his signing. The day before yesterday they announced the numbers of their new players and York wasn't one of them.
So I don't think he will anyhow be watched by the IIHF.
KHL needs more good players. One of their team lost an exhibition game today vs. Lukko, Raumo from Finnish league.
Score was 2-6. Lukko was last season 9th in 14 team Finnish league. Lukko's best player is D Tomi Pettinen who has played few games with Islanders maybe three years ago.
KHL is not challengin NHL any time soon. With or without Mike York.
I think that York's contract with that Russian team was false info. You can't find a single word about York on the Russian team's website. He's not listed in their roster and not even on their transfer list. And if I remember correctly York's contract wasn't published by any trusted Russian website.
The K stands for Krazy.
