Chops contact Favre's agent
The story that keeps on giving. Craig Custance spoke with the Iowa Chops about their pursuit of Brett Favre for Friday's Sporting News Today and apparently there are actually discussions taking place:
You wonder what, exactly, the contract calls for. I doubt, for one, that Mr. Favre can skate..

I think the Leafs should go after him. He may not be able to skate, or shoot, or pass. But that still makes him good enough to play on their third line, and he has one important attribute that no other Leaf has: he's willing to accept a trade.
Sure, he can't skate, but he'd make a hell of a mascot.
I for one would like to thank the Iowa Chops for livening up the offseason. :)
Ah, the hydra grows another head. Where's Hercules when you need him? At least the journo gave the Good Doctor Mirtle a shout-out.
Why do people bad mouth the Leafs' third line? The Leafs' third line is great. In fact, I'd go so far as to suggest that the Leafs have the three best third lines in hockey. And their fourth line is pretty good, too.
Why does the team president need to "scramble" to come up with a #4 jersey? Shouldn't he be able to get one within a couple of hours?
