Crawford joins HNIC

CBC’S Hockey Night in Canada announced today the latest addition to its broadcast roster, Marc Crawford. A Jack Adams award winner (1995) and Stanley Cup Champion coach (1996), Crawford returns to the CBC broadcast booth as an analyst, bringing six years experience as an NHL forward and 13 years experience as an NHL head coach.

“We are excited to have Marc Crawford back on Hockey Night in Canada,” said Sherali Najak, executive producer. “Marc’s resume speaks for itself - as a former player and NHL head coach, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game, which is great for our broadcast.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to begin my second tenure with Hockey Night in Canada,” said Crawford. “I’ve coached from coast to coast in this country and I have a deep respect for the place that hockey holds in the hearts of Canadians. I relish the opportunity to be a part of the Saturday night tradition.”

It was very unlikely Crawford caught on as a head coach again after the debacle in Los Angeles the past two seasons, so perhaps this is a savvy move.

Crow joins Mike Milbury as a new addition to Hockey Night in Canada.

HNIC tries to compete with Tampa? Who are they going to sign next week?

Pierre McGuire doesn't have hair so he's off the list. Barry Melrose would've been good but Tampa beat HNIC in the battle of Melrose Place.

Simpson and Crawford have real helmets. So does Don Waddell in Elvis-kind of way so maybe DW get fired and HNIC will pounce?
