The Islanders' interesting promo
Each time the Islanders win a game in the four-game Victory Plan package, you will get to come back and watch another select game - on us! For example if the Isles defeat the Sidney Crosby-led Pittsburgh Penguins on November 26, you get to return to the Nassau Coliseum on December 16 to see Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals for FREE.
Puck Daddy has more.

What does this say about the organization's confidence in the team's chances to win these selected games?
This is a risk-free proposition for the Islanders.
For the fan's sake, I hope the team wins every one of these games.
If the Islanders have to offer a wacky 2-1 gamble on games against the league's marquee players, how will they ever unload tickets to games against snoozers like Boston and Florida?
Pretty stupid to give free tickets to A.O.'s game. If it was free tix for Carolina or Nashville game it would be ok but Ovechkin Capitals???
I think Isles should sign Brett Favre...
This organization is absolute joke. Gordon looked like the cat that swallowed the canary at his presser. Good luck, bro. They fire a top notch coach and keep an ex-backup goalie with a big mouth as the GM. Wang deserves what he's getting here. Too bad the fans have to put up with this crap. Thank goodness the Rangers and Devils are close by.Maybe KC's lights are looking brighter or perhaps JB can ride in on the white horse and ride it to Canada.
I think it's worth pointing out that Nov. 26 is a Wednesday and Dec. 16 is a Tuesday.
"Sorry, man, I have no interest in going to see Alex Ovechkin play, I don't like to be out late on a Tuesday."
/not a hockey fan
The Islanders have had incredible attendance problems, and even more so on weekdays. A lot of NHL teams have trouble drawing on those Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday night games so it makes sense you'd do promotions with them.
Even with Ovechkin there, I bet Washington's not much of a draw at Nassau.
Hockey fan or not, their money all spends the same and counts toward revenues. Beggars can't be choosers.
Is the arena hard to get to in the evenings on workdays? I know some of the California fans have to run a traffic obstacle course to get to their arenas by 7:00 pm or so, and even then they are frequently late just because of the traffic jams.
"Pretty stupid to give free tickets to A.O.'s game. If it was free tix for Carolina or Nashville game it would be ok but Ovechkin Capitals???"
I suspect the free tickets are supposed to be a reward, not a punishment.
I don't see what's so wrong about this. They have problems selling tickets and have since long before they fired Ted Nolan. Clearly business as usual isn't sufficing, so why not try something different?
