Blackhawks set season ticket record
The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that for the 2008-09 season the organization has surpassed its previous franchise record of 13,425 season ticketholders established in 1994-95, during the inaugural campaign at the United Center. In addition, a near-capacity crowd is expected for tonight’s home preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, marking the most tickets sold for a home preseason contest in franchise history.
Season ticket sales for the 2008-2009 Blackhawks season have increased 300% from October 2007 when the base was 3,400. The increase for the upcoming campaign marks one of the biggest one-year turnarounds in sports ticket sales history for a team that did not qualify for the postseason.
And I think we're headed back in that direction.

Hello, Chicago. Good to have you back.
Speaking of Original 6 cities and large American markets, how are the Bruins doing ticket sale wise this year?
God damn is it nice to be in contention again.
I'm very glad to see hockey back in Chicago; especially back on TV.
Thank God for NHL Centre Ice for those of us who don't live in a city of 10 million.
A young and exciting team -- would have been LOUD in the old stadium.
I never knew why Bill Wirtz seemed so determined to run a once-proud franchise into the ground. Why was that?
