The story that keeps on giving
Puck Daddy has gotten his hands on some video evidence of that 82-0 game between the women's national teams of Slovakia and Bulgaria, and it isn't pretty.
Here's the game's opening sequence:
The rest of the videos can be found here.
I've played some bad rec hockey in my day, but that is some ugly hockey. If you've seen the second video in the series, it picks up with the score 77-0 and Bulgaria pulling its goalie.
What appears to be happening is that one skater stands in the net, smothering the puck in the crease when it comes that way, and then Slovakia gets a penalty shot. Multiple ones, in fact.
What a disaster.

It might just be the face masks, but Bulgaria look like a bunch of over-sized Tom Thumbs: they almost fall when they try to switch directions.
It reminds me of the Monty Python sketch where the gynocologists were playing the Long John Silver impersonators in soccer.
lol....I wonder if the announcer actually kept announcing the goals? Hardest working person in the building if so.
Good lord, I think I could outskate half those girls, and I can't even do crossovers. That was just mean.
(Also, Part 3 has the "fight" at the end of the game, which amounted to a Bulgarian player getting run from behind in the open ice and a couple of wild slaps being exchanged. Nothing to see there.)
This is not what sports is all about. Plus the poor FANS!
Oh wait....
Man I hate women's hockey and there's the reason. Games like that minimizes whole sport. Stop messing with it, coolest sport on earth doesn't need jokers. Can't understand how can anyone enjoy that, simply sad and got nothing to do with real hockey, where you actually need put some effort to gain something >:|
Why do they even play it, when world has 3-4 countries which even care to try and only 2 countries with professional league
You mean like men's hockey before World War II?

Man, the 2006-07 Leafs totally should have thought of that.
Perhaps the goalie would have fared better with a white cane instead of a stick.
Isn't it supposed to be an automatic goal when a penalty shot is awarded when the goalie is pulled?
Not that it would have madea difference in the game.
