Foote to hit 1,000 games

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Adam Foote will play in his 1000th NHL contest when the Avalanche travels to play the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, October 12. Foote will also tie Hall of Fame forward Michel Goulet for second place in franchise games played with 813. Foote has made more regular season (812) and post-season appearances (164) than any other defenseman in franchise history. He will become the 40th active player to reach this milestone, and the 14th current defensemen.

It's taken him a while to get to the 1,000 mark because of injuries early in his career, but Foote had a pretty strong season last year and is going to be a big factor for the Avs this season.

Yea, he'll be a factor until he doesn't get what he wants sometime this season and then he will QUIT!!! on his team.

I also disagree. He'll chew up minutes, but will his homecoming translate to success on ice? Deserting Columbus and his team's vanishing act in the playoffs against the Red Wings are harbingers that the Avs have the team to beat...in NHL97.
