2013-14 NHL standings predictions

Well, these are always tough.

Doubly so when the league has a realignment that substantially changes how teams will make the playoffs.

But here are my best guesses as to how the NHL standings will shake out this year. Hate mail can be directed to the comments... which are moderated by the way.

How did Detroit become so much better in just about everyone's estimation after they squeezed into the playoffs by 1 point last season? Alfie is not all that anymore, Weiss is a reclamation project at this point, and the rest of the cast is pretty much the same. Otherwise, yeah, the predictions seem solid.

Leafs will be ahead of the Canadiens at end of season.

Your such a leafs hater. They are a better team than Montreal and arguably better than Ottawa.

Bizarre that you think Montreal and New Jersey will make the playoffs, especially with kovalchuks retirement and montreals collapse last year. They only finished 2nd because it was a shortened season.
