Sanford's new mask
Canucks goaltender Curtis Sanford spilt the beans to the Vancouver Sun on Tuesday regarding his new mask, which came as the result of a pretty entertaining contest put on by the team:
Sanford claimed to know little of the winner's identity other than it is someone named Kirk. That description makes it pretty easy to spot on the team's website, even if there were nearly 300 submissions. So, without further ado:
"It was a sketch and it caught my eye right off the start," Sanford said of the victorious entry. "It's pretty nice. I thought the contest was a pretty good idea and I'm glad everyone in Vancouver thought so, too.
"The target is to have it ready for the start of training camp."

Nice work, though. If Kirk's out there, tell him to drop me an email.

A better contest would be to design Sanford's new hat.
Or Luongo's new wallet.
Going with the Curtis Joseph look, eh? Coincidence?
I don't think an orca's teeth look like that. There are no elongated canines. The jaw is pointed and has no room for a flat row of teeth in front.

I don't think Orca's break out of the ice shaped like the letter "C" either...it's called artistic license.
It looks sort of like a totem pole type figure to me.
